My New... zoom zoom!

Picture this scenario...

2pm ~ Brian - "Look at your gauge, its almost on 'H'" Pull into a parking stall. Get out, and all of a sudden there is steam coming out from under the hood. And a hissing sound. Get on the phone and call for a tow truck. My Mom had to come and pick us up... Brian, Amy, Nat & Kaylee and myself. ... figured it all depended on the estimate what we were going to do..

3:30p ~Fast forward to .... "Aunt Kim, you were crying" from my 2yr old niece, Kaylee (bless her heart)....

4:45pm ~ Fast forward to being told the problem on the truck... something, something with the engine (lower head gasket).... something something.... going to be $700+.

5pm ~ Scott (DB) & I going to mechanic to find out exactly the problem. Off to the pay for the towing bill - $122.

5:10pm ~ at the bank, seeing if I can borrow some $$$, find out my credit score, which I found shocking! Its extremely good!!! Went back to the mechanic to pick up my truck, and drove it home.. it was loaded up with antifreeze.

6pm ~ call dealership where I got my truck 8 yrs ago. Find out they are open till 8pm. Off we go.....

Just before 8pm, I drove home with this........

Went back today and financed it thru the dealership. And drove it home the 130 mile trip!

Its a '04 Ford Explorer! Only 60 payments to make, and its mine..LOL

I had to find a picture on the net, since its was too dark to take a picture. Its exactly like the picture, but with different brand of tires. Just picture snow instead of grass. But I will get a proper picture up when I get the chance.

Aunt Kim is home!

Wow, what a weekend! Gone for 4 days visiting the family! Have some awesome news, and then ofcourse the sad news (Brett).

FIREMAN - Hinzeit Finish/WIP

Got 1 done!

Yep, got the first of three FIREMAN stitched up. It went super fast!

I stitched it on White 28ct Monaco over 2 with Needle Necessities 153. Love the QSnap Hugger with it? Thought it was quite fitting :D

I still need to attach the charms... but I need to purchase some clear nail polish to paint the charms, so they don't tarnish.

Going to work on a SFE project. Get it started, and will be my take along project for the weekend. Yep, going home this weekend to visit my family! The girls (Nat and Kaylee) are driving my sister nutts, and says to get there ASAP! I would have been there Tuesday, but I gotta work tomorrow.. LOL So we will be leaving first thing in the morning on Saturday, and be gone till Tuesday.. can't wait!

Just waiting on..

the glue to dry. Waiting for the Fray Check to dry on some fabric, so I can start a new project. Going to be starting Hinzieit's "Mini Block Fireman" But here is the kicker... I'm going to stitch it 3 times! Yep, got a fire chief (Dad), captain (Brother2), assistant chief (Brother1), and a firefighter (Brother1's wife) in the family!

What is your cross stitch weakness? (i.e., What do you have to have when you see it, even if you are supposed to be on the Wagon?)

A good price on eBay or on Quins! I mostly look for fabric. Fabric is my weakness! And since Im into hand dyed and higher And why is it.. its always a color that you dont have!?! So, gotta stockpile up, till Im satisfied.

So, send me all your fabric, it would be put to good use.. Im kidding.... okay, go on and laugh..

Brave Hearts - LHN FINISHED

Lookie Lookie what came in the mail today! Thanks again Teresa!! My skein of Cocoa Bean that I needed to complete Brave Hearts from Little House Needleworks! Well it came today, and I got the mail inside and started stitching away!

I LOVE IT!!

Brave Hearts from Little House Needleworks, stitched over 2 on 28ct Creamy Cocoa from Sassy's Fabbys, with the recommended Crescent Colour cotton threads. I did use the Manor Red for my red. Will be framing this beauty soon!

I would love to put a shout out to my stitching peep Teresa. As for your efforts, you were able to help me complete Brave Hearts, which is proudly displayed on my blog! I ran short on a skein of Crescent Colour thread, and Teresa was there for the rescue. And also a thank you to Vickie, for she also searched 2 LNS with no success. Thanks ladies!

Quaker Love - FINISH

Since Im waiting on the theard for Brave Hearts, I thought I would stitch something small. So I began this on Thursday, and I finished it last night (or earlier this morning... LOL) Its called "Quaker Love" from The Workbasket. Its stitched over 1 on 28ct. It was stitched with Needle Necessities #120. Love the affect!

Brave Hearts WIP Report #3

This will be my final report on Brave Hearts till the extra skein of Cocoa Beans arrives. But I think it just looks so cool on the fabric, which is 28ct Cocoa Cream from Sassy Fabbys. Love it!

Cant wait to have it finished. :) Shucks, if I would have had the extra Cocoa Bean, I would have been done, and it would have taken me a week to have it done. Darn it.

Brave Hearts - WIP Report #2

I havent been faithful in stitching every day it seems since my last report... I found an addiction to pogo.com.. and well, enough said about that.

Here is my progress report on Brave Hearts. Its stitching up really fast when I do stitch on it. Only problem is, I have run out of one of the colors (Cocoa Bean)! So you see that "h" on the bottom, its suppose to be there. I will need to order more of the floss to finish the line, and the sheep's head and legs.

I hope to have the rest of the stitching done on Friday.

Update on the truck... if you remember I posted about my truck's heat source not working. Well it was the blower motor, that called it quits. $138 later, I now have a wonderful source of heat now! Oh, yeah and I almost lost my truck on Saturday. I had a crazy driver drive right into me. Luckily enough... the car only hit me in the driver's side front tire, and was traveling at a slow speed. Just left paint on my tire rim. He apologized, and stated he was taking a friend to work (dumb a$$ answer). Well I told him I was feeling nice, and since I didnt see no damage to my truck, I just saved him alot of money (which from the looks of it, didnt look like he had much either..LOL).

You know, honestly, I dont think I have every done this. I mainly do a floss toss on the fabric before I start on it. Get it right the first time!

Brave Heart WIP Report #1

Tonight I needed something to take with me while I waited @ my BIL's and SIL's house while I washed 3 loads of clothes. So I put together Brave Hearts, and put it in the QSnap. Loaded up all my goods, and off I went.

I managed to start stitching on it.. got "they earn making men" all stitched up and fell asleep on their couch..LOL I could barely keep my eyes open. I was sleeping, then I was told I was snoring, go figure!..LOL SIL was even nice enough to put a blanket on me.... ahh, thanks Lia!

I came home and played alittle on the computer, had a pizza instead for our wonderful romantic Valentines dinner (was to have corn beef and cabbage, but decided to wait till Sunday now).. LOL

After dinner I sat and relaxed and watched some tv, while I stitched away on Brave Hearts, here is my first progress report!

How Im going to spend my V Day - hopefully pick up my truck, and do laundry, and stitch! Going to have Corn Beef, Red Potatoes, and Cabbage (yes I know its a St Patricks Day meal), but I saw a great deal on it the other day, and I cant wait that long..LOL

I finished up my BAP model tonight for X's and Oh's! I attached a picture of the size, but you are going to have to wait to see it on the published chart! Its taken me many of many hours on this baby! Its now finished!! Going to celebrate by starting Brave Hearts... woohooo!!

Ahhhh... crud!

Dang, what a night! I just got home, and its after midnight. I flooded Brian's van tonight trying to start it at work (remember my SUV has no heat), and after two hours of trying, Brian came with his brother. They got there about 11pm, and I just got home about 10 minutes ago. Got it charged and started... thank God! So good to be home! Its -18 degrees out there!!

Cough*Cough*Sneeze

Thats what I have been doing most of the day today!

I called in sick to work this morning. I felt bad for doing it, but dang my head was so stuffed up and heavy that all I wanted to do was sleep. I managed to get dressed, doped up on otc meds, and out the door. I got about a 1/4 miles down the road, and thought man is it cold in here. I had started my truck before, to let it warm up. I turn the radio off, and then I found the problem. The fan on the heater was not working :((. So I turned around, and told Brian, Im calling in. That was my sign not to drive the 35 miles in a cold truck, while I felt miserable.

I managed to stay up alittle and just relax, but it was kinda hard with all the coughing and sneezing going on. And the constant running nose. I ended up falling asleep about 12:30pm, and slept till 5pm, when Brian woke me up. Im doing better, but its probably due to the meds in me. Gotta work tomorrow, and make an appointment for my truck to see what is wrong with the heat! GRR!

As you can see in the post below, I have a Hugger on my QSnap, of Elvis Presley. Well I had needed another QH for my 11" QSnaps that I had gotten for Christmas. So I picked out some material, and then asked Brian (DH) to pick the one he liked. Well of course he picked Elvis. In Brian's younger days, he was a HUGE Elvis fan... can sing almost every song by heart.

So I made a 11" QH for me, and I just continued to make a 8" QSnap Hugger also. So, Im offering it as a contest! I will draw a winner on February 20th.
