Pictures from a sad day

I just want to post some pictures...

Thanks to all that left a comment or emailed me, your thoughts and prayers have been doing their job. Our family is still in shock, but we are coping. The funeral was a great send off for our Dad, and one that I'm sure will be talked about for a long time to come. We were amazed at the amount of people, especially firefighters that attended. There were 28 trucks from around the area and state that joined us for the last inspection of the fire stations.

I am glad that things went well all things considering. I adore the ladders being held up out of respect for your father. What a humbling exerpiece. It just has to warm your heart and soul. It does mine. I'm touched.

Thinking about my fellow xstitcher in Wisconsin!

Kim- I read your blog and just looked at it for the first time in a couple of weeks and saw that your father died. Just wanted to say how sorry I am. I know how you feel because I just lost my mother on Jan. 28th. It was unexpected even though she was 84 years old. It has really been hard because I miss her so much. I have good days and bad days. What keeps me going is knowing that I will see her again one day because I know she is in heaven and is happy to be reunited with her parents, sister and 2 brothers. I will keep you in my prayers.

Thanks so much for sharing these pictures, Kim!

As the shock wears off, please remember to give yourself permission to cry. The tears will help wash away the pain, until the day that you're able to focus on the happy memories instead of the loss.

Please keep your camera handy this year, as I found that the memories of that first year to be a total blank later.

Kim,
You have my sincere sympathies, see my family is dealing with the death of my 19 year old brother. He was killed in a car accident on the same night your father died, he was pronounced dead on Feb. 12. I will keep your family in prayer.
God Bless you and yours in your sorrow,
Vonna

Kim, I'm sorry for your loss. Your dad must have been a very, very special man. The pictures tell how much he was loved and respected by the communities around you. He truly leaves a wonderful legacy. You and your family are in my prayers.
