What kids say.. grab a tissue!

I just got off the phone with my Mom, and this is worth blogging about!

As most of you know, our Dad passed away in February. The grand kids are a little to young to really understand about death, and that Grandpa is not coming back anymore.

My Mom had received a book, I Love You More Than Rainbows from someone. This evening, one of the granddaughter's "K" (who is 3) is spending the evening with Grandma. K misses her Grandpa so much, and she talks about him almost every day since he passed.

My Mom and K sat down to read the book, and out of the book fell two cards.

K picked up the two cards, and said to my Mom.

"Look Grandma, we have two tickets to get Grandpa out of heaven"

*Sniff*

How sweet, kids say the most innocent things that have a way of tugging at our hearts. Love the fabric in your two previous posts.

Oh...that's a tear jerker for sure. Sort of like when my nephew comes out of church and looks across the street at the cemetary and says, "Hi Benny"....
Sad that ones so young have to know loss, hard for us, yet I think some harder for them because of their innoncence.

Awww...that definitely made my nose burn and my eyes flush with wetness. Such a beautiful moment.

I remember a time when my son was 5-6 years old (now 12) and asked about death and heaven. He asked me if I was going to go to heaven when I died. I said 'yes' and he paused looking out the window (we were in the car). He started to weep just a little bit and said, "But mama I don't want you to be in heaven without me." I tried to console him from behind the wheel and he continued, "Well, when you go I'm going to grab your foot and leg so I can come up with you." I cried and it's a moment I'll never, never, never forget.

Thanks for sharing such a precious moment in relation to your late-father and his grand-baby who holds him near and dear. :D
